Choppo’s 70th birthday was done in style. A trip to Lingfield Park races followed by dinner at The Duke’s Head, Copthorne.
All those invited were picked up by coach so the party consisted of Dennis and Cynthia, George and Ita, Sid and Babs, John Hudson and Charlie Brown,Jos and Ian and Mick and Elsena plus self and we were all deposited at Lingfield. A little walk up and down the main road to get the tickets and we were all in - and strangely enough we all found ourselves in the bar.
The weather was fairly kind so we were able to enjoy the racing, a few drinks and a snack.
The day passed quickly and we found ourselves outside waiting for the coach to take us to The Duke’s Head
The Duke’s Head was as good as usual and we settled down to more liquid and some very good food having been joined by Gail and daughters.
This was a most convivial party and enjoyed by all.
Eventually we had to leave but the coach was there to take us home
And what about this - obviously just paid the bill and still smiling
